Nicol Mc Laren the Chairman of The National Association of Accordion and Fiddle Clubs stated that …. “... in all of the 21 years of the National Festival … Dalltach were the only band ever to get standing ovations at all of their Concerts…”

 

Dalltach is a newly formed four piece traditional group from Donegal who have made a big impact on concert goers during the past months.

Dalltach, which is Irish for Dazzling, feature four of the country’s leading traditional players.

Virtuoso performers in their own right, they are pushing the boundaries on their chosen instruments while still managing to attain a level of collective musicianship, which is staggering.

 

Comprising Tom Byrne (button accordion and harmonica), Matt Mc Granaghan (fiddle), Michael Carey (whistle) and Michael Gallanagh (guitar and vocals), the band deliver a programme ranging from beautiful melodies and songs to high energy sets characterised by tasteful arrangement, stunning ability, passion and inspirational performance.
